Homeschooling
Welcome to the wonderful world of Homeschooling. If you are new to Homeschooling I want to start out by saying welcome. You are about to embark on a whole lot of opportunities, adventure, ideas and learning!
Growing up, my mom would lead conferences and speak at homeschool conventions encouraging, equipping and teaching other mom’s and dad’s as they were homeschooling.
I would listen to her say over and over “all you need is a library card and a math program to get started.” which is still true!
Many of the lessons that I have put together are just that. You can get many of the books that I will mention at your local libraries. Also look in your area for a dedicated homeschool library these are libraries usually run by a family that lets you pay a small fee each year or month (however they do it). Which normally have most or all the books that I will mention so you don’t have to buy them each year. However, if you can’t find them locally at a library you can almost always find them online – most of them are well priced but keep your budget in mind too…because even cheap books add up fast.
One more tip is try and find homeschool fares in your local or nearby area. These are kinda like large garage sales where only homeschool related items are being sold. Often depending on what you’re looking for you can find most of your needed materials and some fun finds.
